Summer Party Ideas!

Some of the best parties and get togethers we’ve been to have been during the summer months so if you’re in search of a great summer party idea, keep reading. This isn’t our first rodeo people, so trust us when we say we know how to throw a great summer bash!

By now you’ve been to or at least have heard of movie nights in the park, at the beach, and Cinespia at the famous Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Bringing all the fun picnic food (and Nekter on the Rocks cocktail mixers) with blankets, oversized pillows and having a blast with friends is one of our favorite summer pastimes. We thought, why not step it up a notch and personalize it even more with hosting our very own backyard movie night? It’s much simpler than you’d think. Renting a movie screen and projector is actually pretty easy. There are the big inflatable screens or the projectors that stand up right; whichever you prefer. All you need is an open area in your backyard and an extension cord to plug in the projector and speaker. This could be a great idea for a kid’s birthday party, for a family night, or an evening with friends. Lay out blankets, pillows and make easy finger foods like cheese + charcuterie platters, veggies dishes, and don’t forget the popcorn.

Jenga, Connect Four, Dominoes… yes the games you used to play as kids are now available in JUMBO sizes for your pleasure. Add in Corn Hole and Bocce Ball and you’re set for an incredibly competitive and fun day in the sand. I mean, this might be the most exciting thing that has happened to our beach days this past year. There is a caveat though, these games can be a little pricey and heavy to carry but have no fear, if you’re not up for lugging these across the sand you can rent them. We really like Joymode for these jumbo game rentals. All you need is good food, good drinks, and great friends and family by your side.

In this case, we actually don’t mean an alcoholic bar. We’re talking about food bars! If you’re hosting a party in your backyard or poolside this is a great idea. Being a host/hostess, you know how time consuming it is to throw a party. You’re likely to be in the kitchen most of the event prepping for the snacks, main course, dessert, drinks. You want to be in on all the festivities too yet still feel like you’re a great host, right? Our answer, prep ahead of time so you can avoid being stuck “behind the bar” and plan to have food bars. Some of the best food bars we’ve had are:

  • Burger Bars
  • Taco Bars
  • Salsa & Guacamole Bar
  • S’Mores Bars
